The Australian Government recognizes the pivotal role of wine tourism in the nation’s economy. To bolster this, the Wine Tourism and Cellar Door Grant seeks to support and incentivize wine and cider producers who actively promote wine tourism.
Qualified wine producers may be eligible for a grant payment equivalent to 29% of the notional wholesale selling price of their eligible rebatable domestic cellar door sales, capped at $100,000 (GST exclusive). However, the entire grant program has an annual fund limit of $10 million. If total applications surpass this sum, individual grants will be proportionately reduced.
Eligibility Criteria
- Wine or cider production operations.
- A GST-registered legal entity with an active ABN.
- Sales of at least $1,207,000 (GST exclusive) of rebatable wine in the financial year 2022–23.
- Rebatable domestic cellar door sales exceeding the aforementioned threshold.
- All relevant WET (Wine Equalisation Tax) payments settled.
