The Department of Primary Industries and Regions (PIRSA) is offering the Vineyard Resting Rebate (Round 2) for South Australian red winegrape growers trialling the use of Ethephon. This initiative aims to help growers manage overproduction by subsidising the cost of putting vines into a production hold.
Growers can apply for a rebate of $40 per hectare, covering up to 1,000 hectares per ABN, with a total cap of 5,000 hectares statewide. Eligible applicants must have a commercial vineyard in South Australia, hold an active ABN, and meet specific documentation requirements, including proof of purchase, application, and vineyard photos.
Key Dates
Applications are open until 5:00 pm ACST on 31 January 2025 or earlier if the 5,000-hectare cap is reached.
How to Apply
Applications must be submitted through the myPIRSA portal. Before applying, growers should prepare supporting documents, including receipts, spray diaries, and photos of vines during and after Ethephon application.
