How to add your COVID-19 digital certificate to the mySA Gov app
You will need a mySA Gov account to add your proof of COVID-19 vaccination to the mySA Gov app. Creating an account is easy and connects you online with other SA Government services.
When you add your COVID-19 digital certificate to the mySA Gov app, the certificate is only stored on your phone or mobile device and there are controls to ensure your privacy is protected.
Step 1
Make sure you have the latest version of the mySA GOV app on your device. You can download or update it via the App store or Play store.
Step 2
Check that Medicare is linked to your myGov account.

Step 3
Open the mySA Gov app, select VaxCheck, and then use one of the following methods to share your COVID-19 digital certificate with the mySA Gov app.
Note: if you’re an iPhone user, and you’re using iOS 11 or 12, you’ll need to use the Express Plus Medicare app to share your digital certificate with the mySA Gov app.
Your Medicare online account using myGov
- Select Visit myGov.
- Log in to my.gov.au
- Select Medicare.
- Select View proof in Proof of vaccinations.
- Select View history and then your name.
- Select Share with check in app.
- Select mySA Gov check in and follow the prompts to add your COVID-19 digital certificate.
Note: if you’re an iPhone user, your device will need to use iOS 13 or later to share your digital certificate with the mySA Gov app using your Medicare online account though myGov.
The Express Plus Medicare mobile app
- Select Download Express Plus Medicare app.
- Log in to the Express Plus Medicare app.
- Select Proof of vaccinations from Services
- Select View history.
- Select your name.
- Select Share with check in app.
- Select mySA Gov check in and follow the prompts to add your COVID-19 digital certificate.
The Individual Healthcare Identifiers service (if you’re not eligible for Medicare)
- Select Visit myGov.
- Log in to my.gov.au
- Select Individual Healthcare Identifiers service.
- Select Immunisation history.
- Select Share with check in app.
- Select mySA Gov and follow the prompts to add your COVID-19 digital certificate.
Note: If you’re not eligible for Medicare and need proof of your COVID-19 vaccination online, you’ll need an Individual Healthcare Identifier (IHI). You can get an IHI through myGov. For more information, visit Services Australia.
