The Department of Primary Industries and Regions (PIRSA) continues its response to the detection of Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit Virus (ToBRFV) in the Northern Adelaide Plains. Growers are encouraged to attend upcoming meetings to receive the latest updates and ask questions.
Upcoming Grower Meetings
Two grower meetings will be held in February, providing an opportunity for industry members to hear from PIRSA, AUSVEG, and SA Produce Market representatives.
Thursday 13 February | 4 pm
Virginia Horticulture Centre, 942 Old Port Wakefield Road, Virginia
This session will be recorded and available online. A Vietnamese interpreter will be present.
Friday 14 February | 7 am
SA Produce Market, Burma Road, Pooraka
This session will not be recorded, and no interpreter will be available.
Re-planting for Export?
Growers planning to re-plant and export crops to Queensland or Western Australia in the coming months must ensure their crops are tested. The Intent to Export form should be submitted as soon as possible to allow for efficient sampling and testing during the peak March to May period.
For assistance with the form, visit the Virginia Horticulture Centre, where printed copies are available and a PIRSA staff member can provide support. The Centre is open Monday to Friday, 10 am – 4 pm.
Stay Informed
For those unable to attend, the Thursday session will be recorded and uploaded to the PIRSA website and YouTube channel, where automated captions will be available in multiple languages.
