Autumn and Winter have been really tough and the outlook for Spring and Summer are uncertain. The SA Drought Hub, in conjunction with Turner Agri and Talking Livestock, will be hosting a series of workshops to support farmers in preparing their business to respond to the coming season.
Workshop will include:
- Making difficult decisions around selling, retaining and/or feeding stock
- Developing feed budgets and understanding trigger points
- Developing a water budget (if applicable)
- Developing feed rations and the use of containment feeding
- Managing stock to optimise their performance for the coming year
- Long term economic impacts
Four workshops are currently scheduled in the following locations:
24th September – Barossa (Novotel Barossa Valley Resort)
25th September – Tintinara (Tintinara Football Club)
26th September – Naracoorte (Naracoorte Showgrounds)
1st October – Kangaroo Island (Stokes Bay Community Hall)
