The South Australian Government is supporting small and family businesses with the Small Business Fundamentals Program – Round 2. This initiative, led by the Office for Small and Family Business within the Department of State Development, provides funding to service providers that deliver business advisory, mentoring, and capability-building programs for small and family businesses across the state.
Through this program, businesses can access expert support in financial management, business strategy, marketing, and other essential skills that contribute to long-term sustainability and growth.
What the Grant Funds
Funding will support initiatives that help small and family businesses enhance their core business skills, with a focus on:
- One-on-one advisory services
- Mentoring and coaching programs
- Workshops combined with mentoring support
- Sector-specific and regional business support initiatives
Who Can Apply?
Applications are open to business service providers that have operated in South Australia for at least two financial years and have experience delivering business advisory programs. Eligible applicants include:
- Industry associations and peak bodies
- Business Enterprise Centres (BECs)
- Regional Development Australia (RDA) Boards
- Local government authorities
- Co-operatives and not-for-profit organisations
- For-profit enterprises and social enterprises
State and Commonwealth Government agencies are not eligible to apply.
Funding Available
Successful applicants can receive up to $250,000 (ex GST) over two financial years (2025–2027) to deliver state-wide business support programs. Co-contributions from service providers and participating businesses will be required.
How to Apply
Applicants must contact the Program Manager at least four business days before the closing date for an initial review of their proposal. Eligible applicants will be provided with an application form upon review.
