Following the detection of Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit Virus (ToBRFV) in the Adelaide Plains, around 200 workers are seeking new employment opportunities. A second recruitment session will connect affected workers with local employers offering entry-level and general labour positions.
Tuesday, 22nd October
Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Location: Virginia Horticulture Centre, 942 Old Port Wakefield Road, Virginia
For Affected Workers:
If your job has been impacted by the virus outbreak, attend the recruitment session to explore new opportunities. Support services, including counselling, financial assistance, and job search help, are also available at the Virginia Horticulture Centre, Monday to Friday, 9 am – 5 pm. Support is provided by Centrelink, Red Cross, and Lutheran Care.
For Employers:
If your business has entry-level roles or general labour positions, your participation is vital. Many of these workers are skilled in picking, pruning, and other crop-related tasks.
