The Prosperity Path Program supports businesses looking to set up in the Adelaide Plains Council area, as well as existing local businesses seeking to expand or create new employment opportunities.
About the program
A commitment has been made to support economic growth, job creation, tourism opportunities, and business development. Prosperity Path provides assistance to businesses at any stage of their business lifecycle.
The program offers support in:
- Advocacy
- Business growth
- Employment opportunities
- Investment certainty
- Local procurement
- Partnerships
- Tourism enhancement
There are two types of support available: non-financial assistance and business grants.
Non-financial assistance
Businesses, regardless of their stage of development, can access assistance or referrals in the areas of:
- Developing business
- Seeking grant funding opportunities
- Writing grant funding applications
- Local knowledge such as community profiles, market data, business directory, contacts, connections, and networks
- Human resource management and recruits, financial accounting, risk management and contingency planning, cyber security, work health and safety, waste management or sustainability practices
- Tourism supports and connections
- Planning and development approvals
- Land zoning
- Doing business with council
Prosperity Path grant
Grants of up to $2,000 are available this financial year. A total of $10,000 has been allocated in the 2024/2025 budget to support the program.
Grant applications are open now and close 30 May 2025, or until the $10,000 has been allocated.
Any proposal that boosts the local economy will be considered under this grant funding.
There are three different grants available:
Get Going stream
$1,000 per application
Designed for busy small business owners who need extra support to take their business to the next level. The application process requires minimal paperwork.
Eligible expenses include:
- New equipment
- Training or conference attendance
- Marketing or events
New Business stream
$1,500 per application
Supports the establishment of a new business or alleviates business hardship in the first 12 months. Funding is functioned as support only—startups are expected to generate the majority of their income from other sources.
Eligible expenses include:
- Equipment
- Training or conference attendance
- Marketing
- Council rate relief
- Rent assistance
Growth stream
$2,000 per application
Assists with the growth or expansion of an established business, either into new markets, property, products, or services. These expansions are expected to increase business revenue and create more local jobs.
Eligible expenses include:
- Equipment
- New infrastructure
- Training or conference attendance
- Marketing

Who can apply?
Any proposal that will boost the local economy will be considered for grant funding.
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be a registered Australian business
- Be located within, or committed to relocating to, the Adelaide Plains Council area

- Contact the Economic Development Officer to discuss the project before applying.
- Complete the Prosperity Path Program application form and attach all required documents.
- Submit the application via email or mail.
