Nuriootpa Traders is constructing an $80 million logistics hub in Nuriootpa. The project will bring essential storage solutions closer to wine production sites, reducing transportation costs and the associated carbon footprint. This hub addresses logistical challenges faced by local wine producers, and is strategically located for direct access to major freight routes, streamlining the movement of wine products from the Barossa to interstate distribution centres.
Spanning 133,000 square metres, the facility will include 50,000 square metres of warehousing and just as much hardstand truck parking space. The facility will feature a 700 square metre office and a 2,000 square metre workshop, equipped with an automatic truck wash and maintenance bays.
The project will create approximately 60 full-time jobs during construction, with around 300 people working on-site. Once operational, it will add 20 permanent positions, including roles in warehouse management and logistics coordination. Sustainability measures include extensive solar panel installations, specialised insulation for thermal efficiency, and stormwater management systems.
Construction is expected to be completed by March 2025, with potential for future expansion to meet growing demand.
