Light Regional Council has announced that design number four has been selected for the replacement playground at Mattiske Park in Freeling. Construction is set to begin in mid-February 2025 following strong community support for the design.
The new playground design was chosen through a public voting process, with residents providing valuable feedback to shape the final selection. The project aims to modernise the playground with improved features and accessibility, ensuring it remains a welcoming and engaging space for families.
With construction set to commence in February 2025, some temporary disruptions are expected at the park during the upgrade. Once complete, the new playground will provide updated equipment and improved facilities for the community.
