The Manufacturing Technology Adoption Program SA helps South Australian manufacturers stay competitive in global markets by supporting the adoption of advanced Industry 4.0 technologies. MTAP is funded through the Department of State Development’s Research and Innovation Fund.
This program provides matched funding of up to $50,000 to help small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises (SMEs) implement technologies that improve productivity, efficiency, and sustainability.
What the Program Funds
Funding is available to assist manufacturers with the adoption of innovative Industry 4.0 technologies, including:
- Artificial intelligence
- Machine learning and data analytics
- Blockchain
- Augmented and virtual reality
- Additive manufacturing
- Advanced composite materials
- Robotics and automation
- Internet of Things (IoT)
- Quantum technologies
- Optics and photonics
- Other Industry 4.0 technologies that enable new manufacturing processes for decarbonisation or circular economy systems
Who Can Apply?
Applicants must:
- Be an organisation comprised of one or more legal entities (not a person) incorporated or established in Australia
- Be a small to medium enterprise (SME) with fewer than 200 full-time equivalent employees
- Have an Australian business number (ABN) and be registered for GST
- Be actively carrying on a manufacturing business in South Australia
- Have been in operation for at least one full financial year
- Have not previously received grant funding for the same proposed project
