Ebony Lockwood, a Kapunda High School graduate and an apprentice with Master Plumbers SA, has achieved gold at the WorldSkills SA Regional Open 2024. Competing in the Plumbing and Heating category, Ebony showcased her skills by welding a map of Australia. Supported by her Master Plumbers SA Field Officer, Brock, Ebony’s success has earned her a place in the upcoming National Championships in Brisbane next year.
Held on August 23, 2024, at PEER in South Australia, the WorldSkills SA Regional Open brought together the state’s best apprentices to showcase their trade skills. Ebony’s impressive construction of the welded map of Australia secured her the top prize in the Plumbing and Heating category. Her victory is a testament to her hard work and the high-quality training provided by Master Plumbers SA, highlighting the importance of fostering skilled tradespeople in the region.
