Regional Development Australia Barossa Gawler Light Adelaide Plains (RDA) is searching for an outstanding candidate to join their professional team, in the role of Economic Development Manager.
The Economic Development Manager will report to the CEO and work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, including federal and state government agencies, councils, industry associations, businesses, and communities to create, develop and expand successful and sustainable businesses across the region.
The role offers a blend of strategy development and evaluation, along with operational delivery to bring new and innovative programs to the region. You will ensure that strong alliances, partnerships, and networks are grown and sustained, while providing leadership and best practice thinking at industry forums, committees and working groups. You will be expected to identify, manage, and monitor all key result areas to ensure appropriate policies and practices are developed to support sustainable economic development and ongoing systems improvement.
Success in this role requires the capacity to build and maintain strong relationships and networks, commercial savvy, a collaborative approach, and a keen understanding of the economics of regional Australia.
It’s a role that offers abundant autonomy, variety and challenge, while providing the opportunity for you to flex your full range of commercial skills.
Salary range: $100,000 – $110,000 per year
About You
You have extensive knowledge and experience in the planning, development, and evaluation of effective economic development activities. You’re a strategic thinker who enjoys collaborating with a wide group of people to bring your ideas to life. You have proven capacity to develop policy, strategic and operational plans and have runs on the board in a similar role.
We expect that while you will bring a consultative style to the role, that you will embrace the chance to take the lead and drive innovation.

Our activities are funded by grants provided under contract by the Australian Government, South Australian Government, and the Councils within the region. We also bid for complementing grants aligned to areas of service delivery, key priorities, regional research, strategy, and planning.
