Reporting to the CEO, the Economic Development Manager plays a key role in delivering programs and initiatives that support regional businesses, attract investment, and drive economic development outcomes. You will work collaboratively with local, state, and federal governments, industry, business groups, and the broader community to support long-term prosperity for the region.
What you will do…
- Support local business growth by connecting potential new and established businesses of varying scale and maturity with internal and external programs, funding opportunities, and advisory services that build capability, capacity, and long-term business sustainability.
- Design and deliver impactful initiatives that align with RDA’s regional strategies-fostering innovation, investment, and economic resilience.
- Undertake economic research and data analysis to inform regional planning, identify trends, and guide evidence-based decision-making.
- Contribute to policy development by providing insights and recommendations that support sustainable economic growth and regional priorities.
- Lead and manage economic development projects, ensuring delivery within scope, on time, and aligned with financial and reporting requirements.
- Prepare clear, well-researched reports, submissions, and briefings to inform strategic economic development initiatives across the region.
- Monitor and evaluate emerging trends, risks, and opportunities to guide strategic priorities and responsive planning.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships across business, government, education, and community sectors.
- Identify key stakeholders and collaborate to deliver impactful, purpose-aligned initiatives.
- Represent RDA at forums and engage stakeholders through meetings, workshops, and consultations.
