IHG Hotels & Resorts has been named as the operating partner for a proposed 150-room luxury resort in the Barossa Valley near Lyndoch. The InterContinental Barossa Resort & Spa, developed by the Strategic Alliance consortium, will feature vineyard views, a premium restaurant, function facilities, wellness spa, pool, and gym. The $100 million resort has a two-year construction timeframe, with an anticipated opening in 2028, subject to planning approvals. Once operational, the resort is forecast to generate $70 – $100 million in annual economic benefits for the region.
