The 2025–2026 Grassroots Grants program is now open. Funded through the landscape levy, this program provides up to $200,000 in total to support local environmental projects that sustainably manage natural resources through on-ground work and education.
Funding from $2,000 to $10,000 is available on a competitive basis to projects that deliver strong outcomes aligned with the Northern and Yorke Landscape Plan. The program supports volunteers, schools, First Nations groups, community organisations, councils, and landholder groups.
What’s new this year is a simpler two-stage application process:
– Stage 1: Expression of Interest (EOI) – Submit a short project overview from 31 March to 11 April 2025.
– Stage 2: Full Application – Selected EOIs will be invited to apply via SmartyGrants from 22 April to 16 May 2025.
Only 1-year projects will be funded this round. Multi-year projects are not eligible. Applicants must complete their project by 30 June 2026 and submit acquittal by 31 July 2026.
To apply:
- Read the guidelines and FAQs
- Submit your EOI by 11 April 2025
- Discuss your project with a staff member
