PIRSA recently hosted the Dry Seasonal Conditions Roundtable at the Barossa Regional University Campus. The event brought together key stakeholders to address the challenges of ongoing dry conditions in the Barossa, Gawler, Light, and Adelaide Plains region.
Discussions centred on existing support measures, including the National Drought Agreement, and identifying gaps to improve assistance for agricultural communities.
Participants included representatives from Livestock SA, Grain Producers SA, Barossa Improved Grazing Group, Adelaide Plains Food Cluster, Barossa Australia, SA Drought Hub, Rural Business Support, Adelaide Plains Business Group, Northern & Yorke Landscapes Board, PIRSA, Ag Bureaus of SA, DAFF, the Department for Environment and Water, and CFS.
Representing RDA Barossa Gawler Light Adelaide Plains were CEO Leonie Boothby, Chair Rolf Binder, board member David Bailey (Adelaide Plains Council’s Manager of Growth and Investment and Strategic Projects Officer), and board member Kieren Chappell (General Manager for Economic Development at Light Regional Council).
