The Town of Gawler is upgrading Dead Man’s Pass / Yarnpana Reserve as part of its 2024–2025 Capital Works Program, funded through the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program (LRCI Phase 4).
Located on Gawler Terrace, the upgrade includes:
- A vandal-proof, DDA-compliant, fully automated toilet facility
- Full-site CCTV coverage
- Sealed carpark with improved drainage, line marking, and accessible layout
- Replacement of perma pine log fencing with recycled, eco-friendly materials
Closures and alternative facilities:
- Toilet block: Closed 8 April to June 2025
- Temporary toilets will be available onsite
- Additional public toilets are available nearby at Apex Park, Julian Terrace
- Carpark: Closed 28 April to mid-May 2025
- Limited street parking remains available nearby
- Additional reserve carparking continues to be available at Murray South Carpark
The new toilet block will include one accessible DDA-compliant toilet, one ambulant toilet, and a central service room. The carpark will remain open from sunrise to sunset once works are complete, with pedestrian access maintained throughout construction.
