As part of an ongoing commitment to high-quality housing solutions, My Ability Pathway, in partnership with New Dawn Housing, is developing two SDA homes in Nuriootpa. These homes are designed to empower residents by meeting complex support needs while creating welcoming and accessible living environments.
Project Progress
Construction has progressed significantly over recent months, ensuring the homes meet SDA design standards for accessibility, comfort, and modern assistive technology. Key features include:
- Mobility-friendly access with step-free entry and wide corridors
- Inbuilt structures for hoist equipment and sensory-friendly design
- Smart home automation for lighting, heating, and communication
What’s Next
With completion approaching, the project is moving into key final stages, including:
- Tenant engagement. Future residents have secured their places, and consultations are underway to ensure their needs are reflected in the final fit-out.
- Support coordination. Work is ongoing with NDIS providers to align support services with housing needs.
- Recruitment. Support workers, accommodation leads, and key workers are being hired to ensure high-quality care.
A Closer Look at the Homes
These homes are designed to balance functionality with comfort. Located in a quiet cul-de-sac near a nature reserve, they offer:
- Private outdoor areas and modern, light-filled interiors
- Customised kitchens and bathrooms for accessibility
