South Australian charities must comply with a new Code of Practice that adopts National Fundraising Principles. There will be a one-month grace period for charities to become familiar with the Code before compliance will be enforced and charities must comply, from Friday 1 March, 2024. The purpose is to ensure that donors’ rights are respected, collectors are abiding by practices, such as appropriate hours and location of collection activities and to provide greater consistency for fundraising charities, across the Australian borders.
