The Barossa Improved Grazing Group (BIGG, encompassing local producer groups such as Angaston Ag Bureau, Koonunga Ag Bureau, Mt Pleasant Beef Group, North Rhine Sheep Group, and the Barossa Mid North Dairy Discussion Group, has launched a significant health initiative called “Pilates for Rural Living”. This program is aimed at enhancing the physical and mental health of the rural community members in our region.
BIGG has partnered with Pilates Barossa to deliver the “Core Strength: Pilates for Rural Living” program, a series of five 55-minute pilates mat classes. This five-week program starts on Monday, 15 July at 5pm, with each class designed for up to ten participants, costing $114 per person. These sessions focus on improving strength, balance, and flexibility, tailored specifically for the needs of rural lifestyles.
Furthermore, a highly subsidised one-on-one pilates induction session is available for just $50, normally priced at $150. This induction is crucial for all new clients to assess individual health needs, possible injuries, and surgeries, and to conduct a simple fitness screening. The session also allows the instructor to recommend the best pilates class format to suit each new participant.

This project is supported by FRRR, through funding from the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund.
