Turning Gardening Expertise Into a Business
Aleisha Lynch, a third-generation horticulturist from the Barossa Valley, had a vision: to share her sustainable gardening knowledge through her book, The Complete Patch. This month-by-month guide is designed to help Australians grow organic produce all year round. But like many small business owners, Aleisha needed help turning her expertise into a successful business, particularly when it came to marketing and creating an online presence.
Support From RDABGLAP’s B2B Program
To overcome these challenges, Aleisha turned to the B2B Support Program by Regional Development Australia Barossa Gawler Light Adelaide Plains. This program connects small and medium-sized businesses in the region with local experts who offer tailored guidance. For a small co-payment, Aleisha received consultations in web design and marketing—just the support she needed to bring her book to a larger audience.
Building a Strong Online Presence
Aleisha worked with web designer Lyndal Ashby from VisiBelle to create a professional website: thecompletepatch.com.au. This online platform showcases her book and her philosophy on sustainable gardening. In addition, marketing consultant Rebecca Retz crafted a strategy to help Aleisha reach more people who share her passion for gardening and sustainability.
