The Hon Kristy McBain MP, Minister for Regional Development, Local Government and Territories, has announced new Funding Agreements for all Regional Development Australia (RDA) committees. These agreements will commence on 1 July 2025 and conclude on 30 June 2030, providing ongoing support for regional development across Australia.
In line with this, RDA Committee Chair positions are being reappointed across various regions. Chairs are responsible for setting strategic direction, achieving their committee’s objectives, and driving economic development opportunities.
Positions are currently available in the following regions:
- New South Wales: Central Coast, Central West, Far West, Hunter, Mid North Coast, Murray, Northern Inland, Northern Rivers, Orana, Riverina, Sydney.
- Queensland: Brisbane, Central and Western Queensland, Darling Downs and South West, Gold Coast, Ipswich and West Moreton, Logan and Redlands, Townsville and North West Queensland, Tropical North, Wide Bay Burnett.
- South Australia: Adelaide Hills Fleurieu and Kangaroo Island, Adelaide Metropolitan, Barossa Gawler Light Adelaide Plains, Eyre Peninsula, Limestone Coast, Murraylands and Riverland, Yorke and Mid North.
- Victoria: Grampians, Hume, Loddon Mallee, Melbourne.
- Western Australia: Goldfields Esperance, Great Southern, Kimberley, Mid West and Gascoyne, Peel, Perth, Pilbara, South West, Wheatbelt.
- Tasmania, Northern Territory, and the Australian Capital Territory: Positions are also available across these jurisdictions.
Appointments will follow a competitive selection process. Successful applicants will commence their roles on 1 April 2025, except for the RDA Brisbane Chair, who will begin on 1 July 2025.
