Kieren Chappell is the General Manager for Economic Development at Light Regional Council. In this role, he has significantly contributed to local initiatives, notably the Gawler River Water Reuse Scheme (GWRS), which has been instrumental in providing sustainable irrigation and enhancing green spaces within council parks and reserves.
Before his current position, Kieren managed the Engineering & Assets team at the Council, leveraging his extensive experience in structural design engineering garnered from previous roles at leading firms KBR, Inc., and Aurecon. During his time at these companies, Kieren was involved in a variety of projects, including office, commercial, retail, and industrial structures, demonstrating his adeptness in managing both small and large-scale engineering projects.
Kieren has a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from the University of South Australia. Further, his accreditation in Economic Development from Economic Development Australia Limited showcases his skills in strategic planning, economic research, investment attraction, industry development, economic recovery, and sustainable development.
