Rolf Binder

Rolf Binder has deep roots in the Barossa Valley, where he played a key role in managing and expanding Rolf Binder Wines, a winery renowned for its exceptional wine quality. After his family sold the winery in 2021, Rolf now focuses on a small amount of consulting work.

Born in Adelaide’s Rose Park to post-war immigrants from Hungary and Austria, Rolf pursued an education in Agricultural Science with a focus on Oenology at Roseworthy College. He applied this expertise to lead the family winery, blending traditional methods with modern business strategies.

Under Rolf’s leadership, the winery not only preserved its heritage but also experienced significant growth. His keen understanding of the winery’s economic importance to the Barossa Valley has been instrumental in its success, creating jobs and boosting tourism in the region.

Beyond the wine industry, Rolf has a passion for travel, literature, gardening, and the culinary arts. He balances these interests while continuing to make a meaningful impact on the region as Chair of Regional Development Australia Barossa Gawler Light Adelaide Plains.
