Andrew contributes governance, tourism, heritage, primary production and financial experience, with a strong focus on practical business leadership and sustainable regional development.
Andrew Morphett was appointed Deputy Chair of Regional Development Australia Barossa Gawler Light Adelaide Plains in 2024, after several years on the board. He is renowned for his transformative leadership at Anlaby Station, where he and his partner, Peter Hayward, revitalised the heritage property into a sustainable business, enhancing its role in the local economy as a centre for tourism. This includes transforming parts of the property into bed and breakfasts, opening a gift shop, and hosting events like markets with local stallholders, cultural events, fashion parades and weddings.
