Encouraging entrepreneurship is an ever growing economic development strategy. This session addresses how to provide rural entrepreneurs and small business owners with the necessary skills to help them establish networks of business service providers, manage a wide-variety of clients and employ the most recent innovations in technology to help grow their businesses.  What role does the business hub / innovation hub / co-working space play?  Who should run it?  Who should pay for it?

Who should attend:  Hub entrepreneurs, local government, economic developers, anyone with an interest in economy catalysts and injecting new ‘business life” into your town or community.  The discussion will be relevant to suburban centres as well as rural and remote areas.

Who will lead the discussion:  Chad Renando is Switch Innovation.  He has established the operating model of the high performing Firestation 101 innovation hub in Ipswich, Queensland, with a clear vision for the hub and goals for the member businesses.  Chad is working on a number of research projects on business models for innovation hubs and measurement of innovation ecosystems.  He has a lot of passion for this work and we think it’s a great idea to share it with you.

And after: We also invite you to join us for dinner afterwards, up the road in the Barossa, to brainstorm your ideas and find out who else is passionate about effective, performing hubs.  Dinner will be separately invoiced.

And after that?  Stay over and attend Transforming Business 2017 – an astonishing collection of business technology experts gathered in the Barossa to talk to you about current technologies and their application for your business and your staff.  Packages for accommodation and the two events will be published shortly.
