Be a Tourist in Your Own Backyard
Posted 04th February 2016
We are challenging you to be a tourist in your own back yard this summer..get out and explore your region, find out why it is world famous. Take a cooking class, visit a new shop, walk and cycle the trails, go hot air ballooning or take a light aircraft flight, see the shorebirds which have journeyed from Russia and China, learn a new skill, attend a concert, a play, visit a gallery, go geocaching, visit historic sites: the Kapunda Mine, Church Hill in Gawler, Anlaby, Collingrove, Museums……even visit a cellar door, one you haven’t been to before and one you think you know. Be surprised, your region is surprising…. Then tell us what you found on facebook: like Be a Tourist in your own backyard and share the secrets of the region, tell others about it and celebrate. Where to start – visit your Visitor Information Centre in Tanunda, Kapunda, Gawler or the library in Two Wells….they know everything, almost…there are still a few secrets to discover all by yourself.
